Model history:

With the SLK presented in 1966, Mercedes-Benz also had a small roadster in its range. A special feature of the two-seater built in Bremen, which uses numerous components of the C-Class (W 202), was the fully retractable sheet metal roof: within a few seconds, the two-part "Vario roof" could be retracted electrohydraulically into the trunk. Behind the seats was a roll bar that automatically shot up in the event of danger. In 2000, the SLK received a facelift, new transmissions and new engines. In the entire production period from 1996 to 2004, a total of over 311,000 units of the roadster, known internally as the R 170, were built.

General information about the vehicle:

In this auction, a Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 from the R 170 series is now offered for auction, which has the VIN WDB1704651F200757 and was first registered in Japan in 2001. In 2016, the SLK 320 was finally imported to Germany - the current seller has owned the roadster since 2017 (bought from a Mercedes-Benz dealer with 14,000 kilometers). According to the seller, the so-called matching numbers are given and, according to the seller, there is a partially kept checkbook for the approximate traceability of the kilometers and at the same time the history. In addition, the vehicle comes with 2 vehicle keys and a few invoices. A German TÜV is valid until April 2025.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

The paint colour of this SLK 320 is "Brilliant Silver Metallic" (colour code 744) - according to the seller, repainting cannot be ruled out, but according to him, the visual condition of the Mercedes-Benz Roadster is in very good and well-maintained condition and has no inconsistencies except for a scratch on the front right bumper. Modifications deviating from the original condition cannot be made out on the exterior and an accident-free operation in the current holding period is confirmed by the current owner. Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

On original 5-spoke Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels, Michelin brand tires are mounted. After consultation with the seller, the tires can be awarded a condition of 70-90% and the brakes 50-70% of their new condition. The seller is not aware of any modifications or inconsistencies in the area of the chassis.

Interior:

Compared to the exterior, the interior stands out in terms of color: it is red and black and has, among other things, leather seats and a leather steering wheel. With the exception of a minimally stressed outer side bolster of the driver's seat, apparently nothing can be found inside this Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 that could tarnish the very clean state of preservation. According to the seller, the following features are available on board this roadster: xenon headlights, air conditioning, electric seat adjustment, heated seats and an original Mercedes-Benz Becker CD car radio with sound system. All equipment options can be said to have a problem-free function, and all controls such as the switches and the opening and closing of the Vario roof also work perfectly.

Mileage:

The round instruments in the SLK of the R 170 series have a white background: the digital speedometer of this SLK 320 shows only 25,060 kilometres. On the basis of an existing checkbook and some invoices, the mileage of the Mercedes-Benz can be approximately traced, according to the seller's statements.

Engine:

The 3.2-liter V6 cylinder in the front of this SLK 320 produces 218 hp - power is transmitted to the rear axle by means of a 5-speed automatic transmission. The last service work took place in 2021, but the seller notes that he still has an oil service done.

Subsoil:

As far as can be seen, the seller describes the condition of the underbody as rust-free and unwelded. This Mercedes-Benz SLK 320, equipped with a wide range of equipment and an extroverted interior, offers sporty driving performance thanks to its compact dimensions and large V6 engine - but at the same time it can also be cruised in a relaxed manner with the automatic transmission.
