The Mercedes-Benz W140 was a series of luxury vehicles produced from 1991 to 1998 as sedans and coupes in various styles and wheelbase options. The introduction took place in April 1991 after the presentation at the Geneva Motor Show. In 1993, all models were uniformly given the designation S-Class and were run as such, regardless of wheelbase and body. Production ended in 1998 after over 430,000 vehicles were manufactured.
