Ferrari 308 GTSi (1982)

Moritz Helbich

Kickdown's Take

by Moritz Helbich

The 308 remains the epitome of the classic mid-engine Ferrari, and this example showcases it at its finest: red with black leather and in excellent condition. As a European-spec model with its first registration in Italy, it is particularly sought after; a certification report rates it a 2-, and the timing belt has just been replaced. It has been carefully maintained by a collector for years and is registered with an “H” license plate. In recent years, the value of the Ferrari 308 has risen significantly. A dream car for lovers of Italian classics.

Model History

Starting in 1980, the Ferrari 308 was equipped with the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system and designated as the GTBi or GTSi. The new technology reduced emissions but resulted in a slight drop in power to 214 PS for European models and 205 PS for U.S. models. The fuel injection system was complemented by an electronic Marelli ignition system.
Externally, the model remained largely unchanged but received new TRX wheels. Inside, the clock and oil temperature gauge were relocated to the center console, and the steering wheel and seats were slightly redesigned. By 1982, 494 GTBi and 1,743 GTSi models had been produced before the 308 Quattrovalvole took its place.
