Model history
From 1980 onwards, the Ferrari 308 was equipped with the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system and designated GTBi or GTSi. The new technology reduced emissions but led to a slight drop in power to 214 hp for European models and 205 hp for US models. The fuel injection system was supplemented by an electronic Marelli ignition system.
Externally, the model remained largely unchanged, but was fitted with new TRX rims. Inside, the clock and oil temperature gauge were moved to the center console, and the steering wheel and seats were slightly redesigned. By 1982, 494 GTBi and 1,743 GTSi models had been produced before the 308 Quattrovalvole followed.
