With the introduction of the G-Model in February 1979, Mercedes-Benz opened up a whole new market segment. The off-road vehicle was intended as an exclusive means of transport, but also as a working machine in tough everyday use. The G was developed in cooperation with Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, which had relevant experience in the construction of all-wheel drive vehicles. In the course of the construction period of the Mercedes-Benz G-Model, more and more exclusive series were offered to the luxury-spoiled clientele– the tuning companies also began to modify the G-Class according to the wishes of their customers either with more horsepower and a different appearance. Among the companies that "individualized" a G-model on request was Brabus.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class offered here is a G 500 5.8 Brabus from 1998. After delivery to Mercedes-Benz, this G-model was immediately brought to Brabus, where this G 500 was "modified". After a short stay in Germany, the car came to Japan with the FIN WDB463241171137271 to be re-imported over the years. According to the seller, the G 500 Brabus had only 1 owner in Japan. An almost comprehensible history can be proven on the basis of various available documents. 1 vehicle key still exists and the TÜV runs until November 2023.

The exterior of this G-model is kept in the paint colour dark blue (colour code 5904): External features of this Brabus are the impact protection at the front, the running boards, the exhaust leaking to the side of the vehicle and the cover for the spare wheel in body colour. As an external defect, the current holder states that the electric socket for the trailer hitch would have to be replaced. Overall, the exterior is to be attributed a well-preserved and well-maintained condition, in some cases repainting took place. An accident is ruled out by the current owner in his holding period.

Tyres from the manufacturer Bridgestone in the dimension 265/60 with sufficient profile in average condition according to the seller are mounted on 18 inch 5-spoke Mercedes alloy wheels. As in order, the current holder describes the condition of the brakes, defects in the area of the chassis are not known.

The red/black leather in the interior of this Brabus 5.8 is striking: According to the sellers, the two-tone leather interior was modified in red/black according to the Brabus colours of the time. The equipment of the Brabus-Mercedes is extremely rich – among other things, the following features are on board the G 500 5.8: heated front and rear seats, front centre armrest, electric seats with lumbar support, additional benches at the rear, electric sunroof, trailer coupling, tinted windows from B-pillar, exterior mirrors heated, cruise control, air conditioning, electric windows front and rear, leather/wood steering wheel, red floor mats, root nut wood inserts and an original MB Audio 10 radio. Furthermore, there is a separate navigation display on board the dashboard. According to the seller, all equipment elements are fully functional.

"Brabus" can be read on the speedometer. The display in the middle of the instrument cluster shows 71,000 kilometres. The seller mentions that after the engine overhaul has been carried out, the engine has a mileage of only 500 kilometers. The total mileage can be partially tracked via various former invoices and TÜV reports.

The 5.8-litre V8 engine, modified by Brabus and now 5.8-litre, delivers 375 hp. In 2021, an engine overhaul at the company Motopark Academy GmbH in Oschersleben for 16,500 € with original parts from Mercedes-Benz and Brabus took place in Germany. An invoice with a list of parts and work is available. According to the seller, the engine still has a warranty. A 5-speed automatic transmission ensures the gear change. Current defects in the technology are not known to the current owner of the car, a last service took place in the course of the engine repair.
