Model history:

In many respects, the BMW Z1 is one of the weirdest vehicles of the eighties, quite apart from its retractable doors. The "Z" in the name stands for future - which is exactly where BMW wanted to go when it unveiled the roadster in 1987. The 3-series, 5-series, 6-series and 7-series were nearing the end of production, and it was time for a breath of fresh air. The Z1 brought a breath of fresh air not only to the cockpit: The underbody was made of fiber material and its shape created a "ground effect" similar to that used in Formula 1 years earlier. The body parts were made of plastic and bolted to the chassis, making them easy to change. The Z1 also paved the way for all later Z models of BMW.

Exterior color/paint/body:

It is hard to drive a car more open than the Z1, the retractable doors intensify the fresh air fun. The doors, sills and bumpers of the Z1, which is finished in "Urgrün-Metallic" (color code 271), are made of thermoplastic, while the front, hood and tailgate are made of GRP. The vehicle has already been repainted (in the course of replacing both front fenders), but the seller can guarantee that it is accident-free. Defects on the exterior are a crack on the front fender (on the driver's side) and paint abrasion marks on the driver's door. On the whole, there are only minor signs of use on the paint and modifications deviating from the original condition are apparently not present. Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The original 7-spoke Z1 rims, which obviously present themselves in good condition, are mounted on the roadster. The seller notes that the tires are in about 50-70% condition and the brakes are also in about 50-70% condition. The so-called "multilink rear axle" provides good suspension in this Z1.

Interior:

Full leather sport seats in yellow color show up in the interior of the Z1. The lift doors, which can be lowered electrically via a toothed belt, work without defect and are still completely intact. Rough traces of use or even missing parts can not be found in the interior of the car and modifications deviating from the original condition are not to be mentioned. Engine:
