• Audi introduced the Cabrio Type 8G, the successor to the Audi 80. It was produced from 1991 to 2000 and was based on the Audi Coupé Type 89. In 1997, the Type 8G convertible underwent a facelift in which the front and rear sections were redesigned. Almost 71,500 of these were produced.
