Model history:

12 years after the Fiat 500 Nuova was launched, the Fiat Group brought another small car onto the market under the Autobianchi brand in 1969 with the A112. The basic engine came from the Fiat 600 and mobilized 44 hp. Carlo Abarth increased the displacement of this engine, lengthened the stroke and boosted the A112's output first to 58 hp and then to 70 hp in a second stage. In addition to the cylinder head and crankshaft drive, he optimized the intake ducts and developed a sporty exhaust system. Thus the 600 kilogram light two-door became the sports machine: From the conditions the Abarth version sprints in scarcely 13 seconds on speed 100.

In the possession of a H-registration this Autobianchi Abarth is already, the MOT shows a validity until August 2023. Worth mentioning is an appraisal from February 2022, in which the vehicle value of this A112 Abarth was assessed at € 32,000.

In the course of the complete restoration, this Autobianchi was also subjected to a complete paint job - this was carried out in two-tone design: The roof is white and the rest presents itself in red, as it was only in 1974. Engine

The 903 cc in-line four-cylinder engine of this Autobianchi A112 produces 70 hp. According to the valuation report, the vehicle's electronics have undergone various improvements to improve everyday usability - among other things, this engine features contactless ignition. The individual gears are engaged via a 5-speed manual transmission and the power of the little runabout is delivered to the front axle. To the engine the Vekäufer says the following: 70 HP pointed from the outside starting from autumn 1975 to still more sport potential. To make the 70 HP possible, the displacement had grown to 1050 cm3 and the compression ratio had been raised to 10.4:1. The maximum power was still at 6600 rpm. Thanks to an unladen weight of only 700 kg, a real sports dwarf had been created. 11.2 seconds were enough for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h, the top speed increased to 160.7 km/h. In top gear, the "70 HP" accelerated faster from 40 to 100 km/h than a BMW 2002. And it wasn't even particularly thirsty. 8.9 liters of super gasoline were enough for 100 fast driven kilometers, there the weaker Abarth version, which was still further sold for a time parallel, was even less economical. Last service work took place after consultation with the salesman in May 2022.

Underbody:

On the underbody side the car corresponds to its original condition: Here for the purpose of long-lasting protection a preservation was applied. An Autobianchi A112 is short, compact and as an Abarth variant above all one thing: Fast! According to the seller, everything that was not 100% in order on this A112 Abarth was unconditionally replaced or professionally refurbished during the restoration. Accordingly clean, this racing dormouse now stands there waiting for its new owner, who wants to get his enthusiasm from this Abarth.
