Model history

The MGB underwent several revisions during its production run. In 1972, the Mark III introduced a new dashboard and improved heating. From 1974, US legislation required the introduction of larger rubber bumpers, which significantly changed the vehicle's design. In addition, the car was raised by 25 mm to correct the headlight height, which had a negative impact on driving dynamics. The front stabilizer was temporarily omitted in 1975, but was reinstalled as standard in 1977. Stricter emission regulations led to a loss of power. By the time production ceased in 1980, over 399,000 MG B Roadsters had been built.
