Model history
With the DS series, Citroën unveiled one of the most technically advanced production vehicles of its time in 1955. The model, designed by Flaminio Bertoni, and the engineering by André Lefèbvre set new standards in comfort, aerodynamics, and suspension technology. In particular, the hydropneumatic suspension developed by Paul Magès made the DS famous worldwide. In addition to the more luxuriously equipped DS, the technically simpler ID series was also offered. Complementing the sedans were practical station wagon variants such as the Break, Familiale, and Commerciale, which were distinguished above all by their versatility and the characteristic split tailgate. Today, the D models are considered milestones in French automotive engineering.

LG Tom
