Model history
The Mercedes-Benz SL R 107 series was introduced in 1971 as the successor to the "Pagoda" and shaped the brand's design for over 18 years. Its distinctive features included striking H4 headlights, ribbed taillights, and clean, wedge-shaped lines. Developed under designer Friedrich Geiger, the style was also reflected in the W116 S-Class. The R 107 was particularly successful on the US market, often with V8 engines. Technically, it scored points with increased crash safety and optional airbags from 1982 onwards. Its longevity and elegance made it an icon among Mercedes roadsters.

Comments of this past auction
LG Tom
