At the end of the 60s, the British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar launched a new model, the XJ. Co-developed by Sir William Lyons himself, the Jaguar XJ was to become the new flagship - with success. Under the hood was the well-known XK engine series, with customers being able to choose between the 2.8-liter and 4.2-liter six-cylinder engines. Together with the elegant design, the car quickly became a success. The Series II, which was launched in 1973, saw subtle stylistic and technical improvements, including the introduction of a coveted two-door coupe variant of the XJ6. By 1992, almost 318,000 vehicles had been produced.
