After the Porsche factory holidays in 1981, the 944 model comes onto the market. The first models of the new transaxle Porsche were not delivered until 1982. Compared to the predecessor 924, the Zuffenhausen-based company has made considerable technical gains in the 944: the 2.5-litre drive is now a thoroughbred Swabian. In principle, the 944 engine resembles half a V8 of the 928, the cylinder head also comes from the Gran Turismo. In 1985, the interior changed significantly, giving the 944 a more mature appearance. The basic model of the Porsche 944 was built until 1989 – a total of over 112,000 units of this model with the 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder engine came together.

Engine

From a displacement of 2.5 litres, the in-line four-cylinder engine in the front of the 944 generates 163 hp at 5,300 rpm - the maximum torque of 205 Newton metres is applied to the crankshaft at 3,000 rpm. The gearbox is flanged to the rear axle and has 5 gears. According to the seller, a final service was carried out in October 2019: In the course of this service, work worth more than € 4,300 also took place.

Subsoil:
