Model history
The Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight (often written "98") was the flagship model of the Oldsmobile brand for many decades and embodied classic American luxury. The models from the 1950s to the 1970s in particular are now synonymous with the typical "full-size" US car with generous dimensions, lots of chrome and smooth driving comfort. Originally introduced in 1940, the Ninety-Eight was built in numerous generations until 1996. In the 1950s and 60s, it was equipped with powerful V8 engines – such as the legendary Rocket V8 – and offered luxurious extras such as electric windows, air conditioning, and automatic transmission long before these became widespread in Europe.

Comments of this past auction
LG Tom
