Model history:

The letter combination "SL" was introduced by Mercedes-Benz as an abbreviation for "super" and "light". This is mainly roadster. The Mercedes-Benz R 230 on October 13, 2001 presented on the German market and Mercedes-Benz plant Bremen produced. It is the successor of the Mercedes-Benz R 129 and has as a special feature as standard the active suspension Active Body Control (ABC). The ABC chassis is based on a steel suspension. Rolling and pitching movements of the body are almost completely compensated for during acceleration, cornering and braking by sensor signals and with the aid of special hydraulic cylinders on the axles. There were three AMG models. In 2001, the SL 55 AMG, the sports version of the SL 500, was launched. The most powerful and torquey model of the R 230 model at the time, it distanced itself from the standard models with a number of visual changes, such as a reshaped bumper with front spoiler and additional side skirts, dark-tinted rear turn signal and reversing lights, and a four-pipe exhaust system and "V8 KOMPRESSOR" lettering. Following the model update in 2008, the SL 63 AMG was introduced. In addition to the eight-cylinder model, a twelve-cylinder model was also offered as the SL 65 AMG. The last R 230 rolled off the production line on November 30. With the last SL 350 model produced, Mercedes-Benz produced a total of 169,434 cars. The successor R231 then replaced the R 230 in March 2012, which was, however, with more than ten years of production time one of the longest produced vehicles of its time.

At this auction, a Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG year of manufacture 2006, can be purchased. This is an import from Japan, which was subsequently converted to German specifications with original parts (radio, headlights, rear part for license plate) and has received a full TÜV acceptance. The AMG can be easily distinguished from the standard models by the AMG lettering on the rear and the "V8 KOMPRESSOR" lettering on the sides. Repainting is not known to the seller. However, there are minimal stone chips on the hood and a light scratch on the AMG sill plate on the left. It has been professionally reconditioned inside and out. Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The current owner of the sports car rates the condition of brakes and tires as good at 70-90%. Behind the 19-inch AMG rims are perforated brake discs and matching calipers with AMG logo. No damage or defects to the vehicle were listed by the seller.

Interior:

Classically presented in black, the interior features sporty cut full leather seats and other AMG details. The doors have been adorned with an AMG door sill trim and the floor mats with an embroidered logo. Other features of the Mercedes-Benz include power steering, central locking, power windows, heated seats, air conditioning, ABS and radio. It has been professionally reconditioned inside and out. Mileage:

In order to also create a visual difference in the interior instruments compared to the standard models, the AMG was fitted with bright dials, silver-colored symbol discs and red pointers. A mileage of 34800 kilometers was read on the digital speedometer. Due to the fully maintained checkbook, the stated mileage is traceable.

Engine:

With its 5.4 liter V8 engine and a displacement of 5439 cc, the sports car puts 517 hp on the road. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The last service was performed on 09/26/2019 and a new battery was installed in the rear.
