Model history:
In the mid-1950s, Fiat chief engineer Dante Giacosa was commissioned to sketch an economical small car to follow the Topolino, which he had also designed. Curiously, the Fiat Nuova 500 presented in 1957 broke with all the features of the pre-war cars: two cylinders instead of four, installed in the rear instead of the front, fan-cooled instead of water-cooled. And last but not least, it was supposed to seat four people instead of two. The result was a little wagon less than three meters long, with a cute appearance that immediately reminded one of the child's scheme. In 1965, a number of changes were made: Thus for example the doors in front instead of as before in the back were hinged, larger front headlights as well as a larger tank came to the use.
General
to
the vehicle:
In this auction now a Fiat 500L from first registration 1971 is offered to the first auction, with which it concerns a German vehicle, which carries the chassis number 5044618 and shows only two owners. The last owner calls the Fiat now for approx. 5 years its own and has it completely restored/newly built up. A value appraisal by TÜV Rheinland from 2022 rates the condition of the Fiat 500L with a grade of 2+. From the matching numbers the owner assumes, an H license plate may already wear the 500 - a valid TÜV is not yet available, because the Fiat is currently not registered. The seller assures that the TÜV will be redone upon sale. A checkbook is no longer available, but the mileage can be traced according to the seller.
Exterior Color/Paint/Body:
One of the special features of this body is that it has a folding roof, which allows the small Fiat to get more fresh air into the interior. The seller states that great care was taken in the course of the restoration work and the exterior is in accordingly impeccable condition. The exterior color of white is also the original manufacturer color. The seller mentions that this Fiat 500 has never been in an accident and all chrome parts are in shining condition - furthermore, all other trim and add-on parts on the car are in very good condition as well.
Theexact condition as well as further details concerning the exterior can be seen in the other photos.
Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:
Whitewall tires provide a fitting 70s flair - the tires as well as the brakes came new recently, furthermore the chassis does not provide any annoyance in terms of condition as it is in good
condition. Therims are original steel rims with chrome hubcaps.
Interior:
Small but nice and equipped with everything you need for driving, the interior of this Fiat 500 from the first registration in 1971 presents itself. Red leatherette seats provide a lovely charm in the interior, the perforated three-spoke leather steering wheel for a touch of sportiness. In addition to the pop-up windows and the folding roof - which, incidentally, is in immaculate condition - the equipment also includes a retro radio. All switches, levers and gauges in this vehicle work without any problems and overall the interior can be said to be in extremely well-maintained condition. For a detailed overview of the interior, please refer to the other photos.
Mileage:
The only instrument in the interior is a speed indicator with integrated speedometer in the driver's field of vision. As mileage 71,180 kilometers can be read. The seller can track the total mileage of this Fiat 500.
Engine:
The rear of the Fiat 500 shows the air-cooled two-cylinder in-line engine placed
:
This provides a power output of 18 hp, and the power is transmitted via a 4-speed manual transmission. In 2022, this Fiat underwent a final service at a specialist dealer, during which the engine was also revised. Since then, the Fiat has run only 100 km.
Underbody:
Just like the exterior and interior condition of the car, the underside of the 500 - which according to the seller received a cavity sealing - presents itself in a well-kept as well as extremely well-preserved condition. The seller still lets mention that he restored this Fiat as if he would never give it away - moreover, he put a lot of love and rich expertise into the rebuild. The likeable look of a Fiat 500 is reflected in the driving pleasure this little car offers. It's hard not to fall for the likeability of a Fiat 500.
