After 23 years of flat engine V12 construction in its models, Ferrari presented the new model 550 Maranello: it was the return to the classic V12 front engines, coupled to a transaxle transmission. Shifting is done via a 6-speed automatic transmission, which is derived from Formula 1: This allows shifting via shift paddles behind the steering wheel, depending on the selected setting program (comfort or sport), the shift times change from short to very short. The benefit of the HGTC package: The software of the F1 transmission has been revised to achieve even shorter shift times, and the 575 also has a flow-optimized exhaust system.
