The fascination of the Avant RS2 resulted from the fact that it combined the performance and handling of a sports car with a station wagon body that was kept quite discreet despite various modifications. The letters "RS" could be defined as "racing", but this Audi could also be used as a normal station wagon. 2,200 units of the Audi RS2 were promised, but in the end a total of over 2,800 units were built by 1996.

You can now purchase such an Audi Avant RS2 in this auction: This RS2 with the FIN WACZZZ8CZRZ000344 is a German first registration in May 1994. The Powerkombi comes from 2nd hand, whereby it was according to the seller information the first 5 years in the possession of a VW car dealership and then came into private ownership. Since 2009, the Audi has been deregistered and was only moved with red license plates. A completely managed and thus complete checkbook is available and allows the history of the Avant to be traced. To the car present are still 2 vehicle keys. According to the current owner, this RS2 has matching numbers. Also worth mentioning is an existing valuation report. A new main inspection was carried out only recently, according to the seller.

BBS multi-spoke alloy wheels in body colour together with Yokohama tyres, which still have sufficient tread, ensure the external appearance of the RS2. In the course of the recent TÜV appointment, the 17-inch original rims with new tires were again mounted on the car, with which the RS2 was delivered. Thus, 2 complete wheelsets are available for the vehicle. The original Porsche brakes are as good as new, as the brake calipers have been revised and the brake discs with pads on the front and rear axles have only recently been renewed. The rear wheel sockets are currently still being replaced. Apparently, no defects can be pronounced in the area of the chassis.

The station wagon body of the RS2 is kept in "Nogaro blue" (color code LZ6M): Except for a repaint on the rear right door and the rear right wheel arch, this Avant still has its first paint, according to the seller. Thus, a few smaller traces of use, which arise over the years, can be found on the exterior. Except for an obvious scratch on the right side of the rear bumper and scratches on the underside of the front apron, no coarser damage can be detected. The current owner can rule out an accident. No cracks can be removed from the headlights and the continuous light strip at the rear, and the glass panes have no scratches all around. Furthermore, the owner mentions that 2 new original RS2 emblems (for front and rear) have been procured by him.

Matching the exterior colour, the interior of the RS2 features textile covers in body colour: the Recaro sports seats with adjustable thigh rest, which are covered with Alcantara in the centre track and leather on the side bolsters, provide plenty of lateral support. The carbon panels, which are attached to the door panels and the dashboard, appear sporty. Overall, the interior can be seen in a well-kept condition without damage except for a hanging headliner in the rear area of the car. The following features are available on board the RS2: sunroof, power steering, central locking, electric windows, heated seats, air conditioning, ABS and a Blaupunkt radio.

White instruments indicate sportiness: on the left the rev counter with the cooling water temperature display, on the right the speedometer with fuel gauge, in the middle a multifunction display. On the speedometer, a mileage of 173,560 kilometers can be read, by a checkbook completely managed according to the seller, the total mileage of this Avant can be perfectly documented. Except for a pixel disturbance in the area of the clock display, which is integrated in the round instrument of the rev counter, all instruments of the car work perfectly.

Powered by Porsche is the longitudinally installed in-line five-cylinder with turbocharging in the RS2: From 2.2-liter displacement, the engine gets an output of 315 hp, which is transmitted to all 4 wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission via Quattro drive. The current holder mentions that recently the brake fluid, the timing belt and the V-belt were renewed and an oil change including filter and spark plug replacement took place.

Given the overall mileage of the Audi Avant RS2, the underbody is in good condition.
