Model history

The so-called G series marked the second generation of the Porsche 911 from 1974 and was built until 1989, making it the longest-running model series in 911 history. Externally, it is characterized by large bumpers with bellows, which were introduced in response to new US safety regulations. Under the bodywork, the 911 underwent continuous development: from the chassis and brake system to the safety equipment. The last model year, 1989, marked the end of this era with the transition to the 964.

LG Tom
