Technik: Der Audi 100 Typ 44 (intern auch als C3 bezeichnet) ist ein Fahrzeugmodell der oberen Mittelklasse der Audi NSU Auto Union AG (ab 1985: Audi AG). Der Audi 100 C3 tat sich mit einer besonders strömungsgünstigen Karosserie hervor, war Vorreiter des permanenten „quattro“-Allradantriebs in der oberen Mittelklasse und brachte für den Volkswagen-Konzern erstmals den TDI-Motor mit Diesel-Direkteinspritzung und Turbolader in die Serie. Bei der Entwicklung des C3 standen vor allem die Wirtschaftlichkeit, eine hohe Produktqualität und die Langlebigkeit des Fahrzeugs im Fokus. Federführend bei der technischen Entwicklung war Ferdinand Piëch. Das Design stammte von Hartmut Warkuß. Heute steht die dritte Generation des Audi 100 exemplarisch für den Beginn der Entwicklung von Audi zu einer technikbetonten Premiummarke. LG Tom
