Porsche 911 996 Carrera orig. GT3 Aero Kit (1999)

Moritz Helbich

Kickdown's Take

by Moritz Helbich

This 996 is special in two ways: First, it features a rare original GT3 aero kit, which gives it a distinctive look. Second, with approximately 35,000 kilometers on the odometer, its mileage is extremely low—a rarity among 996s today. Thanks to the service booklet, the maintenance history is also fully documented, making this 996 an extremely attractive opportunity.

Model History

The Porsche 996 marked the beginning of a new era in the 911 series in 1998: It was the first model to feature a water-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine. This technical change enabled higher performance and compliance with modern emissions standards. The design was also fundamentally revised—the 996 was wider, longer, and more comfortable than its predecessor. The Turbo came standard with all-wheel drive. To this day, the 996 is considered a turning point in 911 history.

LG Tom
