The Porsche Cayman, which was first purchased in 2005, was in a class of its own and did not compete with its stablemate 911. The Cayman was the coupe version of the Boxster roadster. The first generation (Type 987c) was followed in 2013 by the second generation (Type 981c), which, among other things, became lighter and had more horsepower. As the most powerful variant, Porsche presented the so-called Cayman GT4 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show: This has the 2.8-liter boxer engine from the 911 Carrera S (991) and parts of the front and rear axles and brakes come from the 911 GT3 (991).
