- From 1963, the Mer
cedes-Benz W113 shaped the image of the sporty road sters. As the suc ces sor to the 190 SL, the W113, also known as the Pagoda, was offered with var i ous engine vari ants. It started with the 230 SL, equipped with a six-cylin der engine and 150 hp. Later came the 250 SL and the 280 SL, with larger dis place ments and more power. By 1971, a total of around 48,900 Pago das had been pro duced.
