Model history

The Daimler Double Six was the most luxurious model in the Jaguar XJ series and was already a sought-after collector's item before production ended. With its powerful V12 engine and a top speed of 230 km/h, it was the fastest four-seater in the world at the time.
Despite the introduction of the Jaguar XJ40 in 1986, the Double Six remained in the range at the request of customers and was given a handcrafted interior by Vanden Plas. At the end of production in 1992, Jaguar produced 1,500 units of the "Last of the Line" edition with ABS brakes and improved corrosion protection – one of which was for Queen Elizabeth II.
