Model history
The BMW E9 is regarded as one of the most style-defining German coupés of the 1970s. With elegant lines and sporty aspirations, the 2800CS was the first model in this series and at the same time an important image carrier for BMW. The combination of an elongated hood, striking "Hofmeister kink" and a silky-smooth six-cylinder in-line engine made the E9 not only successful in motorsport - for example as the basis for the legendary CSL racing cars - but also very popular with drivers with an eye for design and technology.
