Model history

The history of the OSI Ford is quite remarkable. At the beginning of 1965, OSI was commissioned by Ford to design an elegant styling study based on the Taunus TS. The design came from Sergio Sartorelli, who had also designed the Karmann-Ghia Type 34 ("the big Karmann"). In March 1966, Ford presented the result at the Geneva Motor Show and was overwhelmed by the positive response from the public. Ford actually decided to produce the car in series, which also surprised OSI. Despite the hastily organized manual production, the quality of the car was surprisingly high.
