In 1985, the Golf 1 Cabrio Kar mann ver sion was launched, this was man u fac tured by Kar mann, a Ger man coach builder. Equipped with a 1.8-liter four-cylin der engine, the con vert ible pro duced 92 hp. By 1993, around 250,000 vehi cles had been pro duced.
