Porsche 924 (1983)

Vehicle description

Model history:

The Porsche 924, a sports car which was built from 1975 to 1988. It was marketed as the successor to the VW Porsche 914 and below the 911 as an "entry-level" Porsche for young people and families. The 924 was Porsche's first car with a water-cooled front engine and the transaxle drive concept. Because of its Volkswagen-derived components, such as the 2-liter engine, the model was often not considered a full Porsche sports car. As a result of the years, the car was modified again and again. For example, starting in 1977, the car was offered with a manual transmission or a three-speed automatic. A year later, several improvements were made: a hot-dip galvanized engine on both sides, two pressure accumulators and an additional solenoid valve to prevent starting difficulties when the engine was warm, a muffler with an oval tailpipe and a larger water tank. In 1979, the series was expanded by the more powerful 924 Turbo model. Another year later, the four-speed manual transmission was dropped in favor of a standard five-speed. In 1980, the 924 was given a similar visual and technical makeover to the Turbo. This included a sports package with anti-roll bars and Koni shock absorbers on the front and rear axles, as well as internally ventilated brake discs at the front. In 1981, side blinker lights were added as standard in the front fenders. The last vehicles were produced under the S-model, until 1988 the production was stopped.

General information about the vehicle:

Here you have the possibility to acquire a Porsche 924 year of construction 1983. Since then the vehicle has been driven accident-free by four owners and shows the vehicle identification number WPOZZ92ZDN402114. Although the Porsche is currently not registered, it is ready to drive. The seller states that he will do a new MOT before handover. The car can be driven with the popular H license plate. Furthermore, the car is not tinkered with and is in original condition. A restoration of the car took place over 4 years and a total of 1200 working hours were invested. There is no checkbook available.

Exterior color/paint/bodywork:

Externally, the Porsche with its characteristic flip-up headlights appears in a timeless gray. According to the owner, the Porsche 924 has been restored. The body was completely repainted by the previous owner in the original color code and therefore shows little patina. Parts that were changed during the restoration, such as mirrors and sills, were repainted in the body color by the current owner. There is a hairline scratch on the roof. Feel free to make your own picture of the condition of the car. You can find detailed photos and videos of the auction in the gallery.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The Porsche is for sale with new brakes and silver rims, which also have new tires on them. The car is in original condition and no modifications have been made. Furthermore, there is no information about any other defects.

Interior:

Classic black presents the dashboard, the headliner and the interior trim of the doors. The cloth sports seats are covered in black and white Pasha trim, typical of the year of manufacture. The rear seats fold down to increase the cargo area of the trunk. For steering, the car has a black two-spoke steering wheel with Porsche lettering installed. The exact condition of the interior can be seen in the photos in the gallery. The Porsche 924 is equipped with sunroof and radio. The rear blind is defective.

Mileage

:

Behind the steering wheel are the instruments for coolant temperature, fuel tank, speed and mileage display. Additional instruments have been installed in the center console. On the five-digit speedometer was currently read a mileage of 87,093 kilometers. According to the seller, the indicated kilometers can be partially reconstructed.

Engine:

The water-cooled four-cylinder engine gives the sports car an output of 125 hp on the road. With a displacement of 1984 cc, the Porsche can reach a top speed of 204 km/h. The vehicle has a 5-speed manual transmission. A fresh service is made in addition to the TÜV also before the handover by the seller. Take a look over the photos with pleasure into the maintained engine compartment.

Underbody:

The underside of the car presents itself in a neat and well-maintained condition to match the rest. It shows no rust and has been preserved with a clear coat underbody protection.... For a closer look, please refer to the other photos.
