Model history:
The successor to the legendary Ford Model T (also known as "Tin Lizzy"), the Model A, was also built in Germany for almost three years. With its 3.2-liter in-line four-cylinder, which made 40 hp, the simple technical design and its unconditional reliability, it followed in the footsteps of the Estate model. The Ford Model A was available in many versions and body types. The enormous production number of the "Tin Lizzy" could not reach the Ford A, after all, almost 4.5 million copies produced worldwide showed that Ford had succeeded in keeping many customers on the bar.
General information about the vehicle:
A piece of automotive history can now be purchased in this auction. This Ford Model A is a Phaeton from 1930, which is an import from Austria and, according to the seller, has only 5 owners over the years. Whether the so-called matching numbers are available, can no longer be said with certainty - but it is clear that the history of the restored Phaeton can be approximately proven and the last completed TÜV has its validity until July 2023. In addition, the Model A is already in possession of an H plate.
Exterior colour/varnish/body:
At that time, the Model A was only produced in 4 standard colors, for manufacturing reasons, the fenders were always painted black. This Phaeton has a red paint color and has already been repainted over the years - an accident in the current holding period can be ruled out by the seller. The chrome on the car still shines as it should and gross negative abnormalities are apparently not to be mentioned on the exterior. Obviously crack-free and in good condition is the black hood of the Phaeton. In order to take a close look at the condition of the exterior, we refer to the telling series of pictures of the vehicle.
Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:
Black wire-spoke rims together with Excelsior tires - which are preserved in a condition of 30-50% - provide the further visual appearance of the Model A. In the area of brakes, the seller attests to the Ford a condition between 50-70% and the chassis are according to him no inconsistencies to complain.
Interior:
The beige leather benches of the Ford Model A are richly upholstered and provided with thick leather - front and rear presents a solid bench with a couch atmosphere. In addition to the leather seats, the door panels are covered with beige leather and otherwise the Phaeton is sparse, but equipped with everything necessary. On the whole, the interior of the vehicle is to be attributed a patinated and obviously very well preserved condition. In order to get an exact overview of the equipment features and the condition, we recommend looking through the many pictures of the Ford.
Mileage:
Unknown is the exact total mileage of the car - the seller mentions that the mileage is approximately comprehensible and the Phaeton has been restored over the years and is therefore in a correspondingly good condition. The few ads all work.
Engine:
From a 3.2-liter in-line four-cylinder, which provides 40 hp, the power is transmitted via a 3-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. According to the seller, the Model A underwent a final service in July 2022.
Subsoil:
In view of the now over 90 years of vehicle age, the underside of the Model A presents itself in a healthy condition - the pictures give more details. This Phaeton represents a piece of automotive history and is ideal for collectors or lovers of pre-war models. Even today, numerous Ford A models still exist - also proof that in that era, the US manufacturer's automotive technology was the leader in terms of everyday practicality and robustness.
