The 02 series refers to a mid-range model from BMW, which was built from 1966 to 1977 in 861,000 units. All vehicles have 4-cylinder engines as standard, with the first two digits of the model designation indicating the displacement of the models (exception 1502). The 02 series is closely related to the BMW New Class, but is smaller and significantly lighter and thus has a better power-to-weight ratio. Thus, the 02 series was appreciated for its sportiness and celebrated numerous successes in racing. In 1975, the 02 Series was replaced by the BMW E21, the first BMW 3 Series. The BMW 2002 was the most successful model of the 02 series. The basic version had a water-cooled 2.0-liter engine with 100 hp, which accelerated it to 180 km/h.

This beautiful classic car is a BMW 2002 ti conversion from 1973 (EZ 05/1973). The car with the VIN 3646473 has always been registered in Germany and has borne the same license plate from Grünstadt/Pfalz since the first registration. The 2002 is in second hand and has been in the possession of a collector for over 25 years, who has regularly moved it to avoid damage to the stand. Checkbook entries are partly available, the history is traceable. The 2002 is accident-free and has matching numbers. It has TÜV until 10/2023 and an H-approval. It is offered with a complete set of keys with 4 keys.

The 2002 is based on very rare BMW alloy wheels from 1973. The seller rates the condition of the tyres as as new, the brakes are in good condition. According to the owner, there are no defects in both areas.

The 2002 has the rare and beautiful exterior color turquoise metallic and is judging by the pictures in very nice, well-kept condition. 25 years ago, it was completely repainted in turquoise by a professional. This 02 was one of the last models before the big facelift of the 02 series and still has the beautiful chrome-plated radiator grille and the round taillights. All-round chrome trim strips and chrome-plated window frames give the BMW a noble appearance. Auxiliary headlights are mounted on the front bumper and the vehicle has only the exterior mirror on the driver's side as standard. The driver's door has been partially repaired with paint at the bottom and thus has a small bump, in the chrome strips there are small age-related dents in places. Otherwise, according to Halter, no rust or quirks can be seen. The owner is not aware of any other external defects or modifications.

In contrast to the coloured exterior appearance, the interior is dominated by solid black artificial leather. The cheeks of the seats are upholstered in black imitation leather, the backs and seats are set off in grey velour and set contrasting accents in the dark interior. The front seats have height-adjustable headrests. The rear seat is also in good condition, but no longer in the original, as it was quite heavily stressed. A black carpet lines the floor. The door panels are also upholstered in black imitation leather, decorated with chrome-plated decorative elements. The dashboard is black and was standard in the BMW 02 during this period. The 2002 has a rev counter, adjustable rear side windows and a car radio. Damage to the interior is not known to the seller.

All instruments of the 02 are functional according to the seller. The mileage read is 98,147 kilometers.

The original BMW 2002 has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with 100 hp. This 02 was rebuilt in 1996 by a professional to a performance-enhanced 2002 ti. For this he received two original Solex double carburetors, which draw 88 kW (120 hp) from the 2-liter engine and accelerate it to 185 km/h. The entire conversion is registered. The original version 2002 ti (Turismo Internazionale) was built only between 1968 and 1972. This model is built in 1973, there has never been an official ti in that year. A 4-speed manual transmission with stick transmission transmits the power to the rear axle. No defects were found in the last service of the BMW in October 2021. The ignition and carburetor of the BMW have been adjusted, the cooling water thermostat and the exhaust end pot have been renewed, and it has also received a new original BMW exterior mirror. Upcoming repairs are not known, so this wonderful classic car is a vehicle to put in and have fun.

According to the seller, the underbody is in mint condition "as if delivered ex works". So far, no additional underbody protection has been applied.
