Model history

The BMW E28 M5 from 1988 marked the start of the legendary M5 series and was designed by BMW Motorsport as a powerful and sporty variant of the BMW 5 Series. Powered by an impressive 3.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 258 hp, the sedan was able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 6.1 seconds. The design of the E28 M5 differed only marginally from the standard model, including a wider radiator grille and visually adapted side sills.
