As the successor to the "Pagoda" models, the new roadsters of the R107 series had great market success, although they had lost the lightness of the lines of the older series purely externally. Nevertheless, they had been technically considerably refined and completely modernized. In addition to the models with six-cylinder engines, the introduction of the V8 engines, whose displacement ranged from 3.5 liters to 5.5 liters, provided new driving performance dimensions. Until 1989, the roadsters of the 107 series were constantly facelifted and still represented quite contemporary technical standards – even after almost 20 years of construction.

The Mercedes-Benz model offered in this auction is a 380SL of the R107 series from 1983. The SL with the FIN WDB10704512027563 comes from the USA and was first registered there in July 1983, a total of 3 vehicle owners are known to the current seller – with himself. According to the seller, a history is available and consists of various invoices and previous TÜV reports. The circumference of the keys is 2 pieces. The R107 already has an H-approval, the TÜV is still done before the handover. Matching numbers are given with this 380SL. In Germany, the Mercedes-Benz underwent a complete repaint in the colour "Lugano grey" at a professional car paint shop in 2014. Damage or even missing parts in the interior of the R107 are not to be found. The function of the soft top is perfectly given, a hardtop is available and is of course given.
