In this auction, a Mercedes-Benz R 129 from the year of construction 1998 is offered as a model version SL500 for auction: This roadster with the FIN WDBFA68F7XF179338 is an import from the USA. The Mercedes-Benz was first registered in Arizona in February 1999, a total of 3 owners are known as owners, with the last holder owning the R 129 since 2004. According to the seller, the complete on-board folder with all vehicle keys and the checkbook is available, and there is also a carfax. Before this SL goes to the new owner, the seller takes over a fresh TÜV and a fresh AU with a delivery inspection. Matching numbers are given.

"Firn white" is the name of the original Mercedes factory colour of this SL500: after consultation with the current holder, there are no repaints, which means that the body of this roadster still bears its first paint. Therefore, here and there are also a few traces of use in the paint, but neither corrosion nor serious damage can be spoken. Small stone chips can be seen on the hood and on the left rear wheel arch. There is no damage to the black soft top, and the plastic rear window is also free of defects. Modifications to the exterior cannot be found.

245/45 tyres on the front and rear axles ensure proper road contact. The tyres obviously still have sufficient profile. Chrome-plated Mercedes alloy rims are used as rims, on which the chrome partially peels off – however, the seller notes that he can have the rims dechromed and re-powdered on request. In terms of brakes and chassis, no negative complaints can apparently be made.

Typical Mercedes feel-good ambience can be taken from the interior of the SL500: grey full leather seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, wooden veneers in the centre console and on the door panels and the neatly tidy dashboard ensure luxury. There is virtually no defect in the interior, all materials are neither worn nor worn out – this speaks for a good care of the former owners of this roadster. After deciphering the optional equipment codes, the following features are on board this SL: garage door opener, front seats electrically adjustable with memory, seat heating on both sides, interior mirror automatically dimmable, radio MB Audio 30, cupholder, ESP, exterior mirror left and right with memory, burglary and theft warning system (EDW), xenon headlights, root wood veneers, sound system. Furthermore, the original hardtop is included.

Five round instruments provide information on all important driving data in the SL500: According to the mileage speedometer, the Mercedes-Benz has covered 27,600 miles, which would correspond to a mileage of 44,417. The total mileage of this roadster is evidenced by a checkbook as well as by the Carfax, which also certifies the absence of accidents. The instruments in the interior can be attributed an impeccable function.

The V8 engine of the Mercedes-Benz draws 306 hp from a displacement of 5.0 litres. This power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 5-speed torque converter automatic. A last service took place in March 2021, defects in the powertrain are not to be noted according to the seller. Recent repairs include: airbag sensor replacement, spark plug replacement and battery replacement.

The cleanly preserved underbody of the Mercedes-Benz SL500 is exemplary in terms of condition. Not even coarse dirt can be taken from this underside.
