The new BMW M3 of the E46 generation made its debut in Paris in 2000 as a coupé, 1 year later the convertible was presented to the public. In addition to many technical refinements and the potent body design, the new power trio featured a variable differential lock with electronically controlled traction compensation and a floating compound brake system on the front and rear axles. The heart of every M3 is, of course, its engine. In the M3 E46, this meant: a high-revving in-line six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that revs up to 8,000 rpm. Over its production period between 2000 and 2006, approximately 85,000 units of the M3 E46 were sold – making this M model the most successful in BMW's history to this day.

Now, in this auction, such an M3 of the E46 series from BMW can be auctioned off in the convertible version: This is a German first delivery with first registration in June 2002. According to the seller, this M3 with the FIN WBSR91040EX11519 has a total of 3 holders, 2 vehicle keys are still available and the so-called matching numbers are given. For the traceability of the history of the car, according to statements of the current owner, a completely kept checkbook is enclosed. The TÜV is renewed before it is handed over to the future owner. The starting-battery was just replaced and is new now.

Visually, the power look of the M3 E46 is still well received today: Details such as the spoiler strip – called gurney flap – on the edge of the trunk lid are just as much a must of this M3 as the cooling fins integrated into the front fenders or the four brute-looking exhaust pipes. Except for repainting of the left side of the car, this M3 Cabriolet, which is held in "carbon black metallic", impresses with its first paint, according to seller statements. Apart from age-related signs of use on the exterior, no gross damage to the paint can be detected. The current owner cannot rule out an accident. As a modification, a rear diffuser in carbon can be recorded. No defects can be removed from the well-preserved soft top.

The tyres are very well preserved in terms of condition – these are mounted on original M rims. According to the seller, the right rear rim is damaged, the remaining rims can be attested to an acceptable state of preservation. The brakes are obviously also in good condition, but there are apparently no deficits in terms of chassis technology.

Electrically adjustable and well-contoured full leather sports seats in the colour black can be found in the interior of this M3: the thigh support can be extended if necessary. The leather-covered three-spoke sports steering wheel in this M3, which is equipped with an AC Schnitzer Carbon steering wheel clip, is extremely grippy, and the trim strips in the interior are also striking. Except for a slightly worn driver's seat cheek, there is no damage to the interior of this BMW. Features include the electrically adjustable seats with memory, the front lumbar supports, the windscreen, the interior mirror with automatic dimming, the automatic climate control, the multifunction steering wheel with cruise control function and the original radio.

The displays in the cockpit of the E46 M3 are highlighted in grey: 108,800 kilometres can be read on the orange display in the middle. According to the seller, the total mileage of this car can be proven by a fully managed checkbook, and the logbook with all documents for the vehicle is also available. A complete function of all instruments and displays is given.

The 3.2-litre 24V in-line six-cylinder engine with double vanos is a high-performance engine that impresses with its revving pleasure. It delivers a whopping 343 hp at 7,900 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by a 6-speed sequential manual transmission called SMG, in which the driver can also shift into gears via shift paddles on the steering wheel. A service has always been carried out, defects in the technology are currently not present.

A perfectly healthy condition results from the sight of the underside of the BMW M3 E46. An M3 of the E46 series impresses acoustically with the revving pleasure of its in-line six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and visually with its brute appearance. In the M3 Cabriolet you still get a bit more extravagant than in the Coupé, so the appearance is a bit more exclusive but by no means more inconspicuous. With its carefully comprehensible vehicle history of this M3 Cabriolet and the classic color combination black / black, this power threesome is looking for a new owner who knows how to handle the Convertible just as carefully as the previous owners.
