Model history

The BMW E9 was produced from 1968 to 1975 as a sporty luxury coupe. The series was based on the BMW 2000 C / 2000 CS, with the body manufactured by Karmann. Initially introduced as the 2800 CS, the model was replaced in 1971 by the 3.0 CS and 3.0 CSi variants. The 3.0 CS had an enlarged 2,986 cm³ inline six-cylinder engine with twin carburetors and produced 180 hp. From 1971 to 1975, around 4,455 units of the 3.0 CS were produced.
