Model history
With the T2, Volkswagen completed a clear generational change at the end of the 1960s. A distinctive feature is the curved, continuous windshield ("bay window"), which replaced the V-shaped front end of the T1. The body was around 20 cm longer and more linear with the same wheelbase, and the window areas were significantly enlarged. Technical and practical innovations such as side air intakes for engine cooling, a standard sliding door, and a modernized dashboard underscore the further development compared to its predecessor.
