The presentation of the first model generation of Audi's mid-engine sports car called R8 took place at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. The aim of the developers was to incorporate the best core substances into the production of the super sports car. The R8 was built with "quattro" technology and the high-tech supplier Lamborghini, which has been part of Audi since 1998. The designation "R8" comes from the Le Mans racing prototype Audi R8 – just like this Le Mans racer, the R8, which was available from 2006, also had a mid-engine in V-arrangement: optionally with 8 or (from 2009) with 10 cylinders. Audi presented a roadster model at the end of 2009 at the IAA in Frankfurt, and this R8 called the "Spyder" was available from 2010.

The Audi R8 offered in this auction is the so-called Spyder version of the mid-engine sports car, which comes from the year of construction 2011 and has a total of 3 vehicle owners. This R8 was originally delivered with the FIN WUAZZZ422BN002032 in Germany. According to the seller, the history is complete, in addition to 2 car keys, the Spyder still has its matching numbers. A most recent general inspection is still valid until November 2023.

The body of the Audi R8, which has not yet been repainted except for the rear bumper, shines classic black: Apart from normal signs of use according to the current owner, no deficits can be seen in the paint of the Spyder. Compared to the closed version of the Audi R8, the Spyder dispenses with the vertical intake air openings in the C-pillar area known as "sideblades", but the Spyder versions of the R8 2 have integrated air scoops in the soft top box. The black soft top of this mid-engine sports car is undamaged, and the opening and closing of the soft top also works perfectly and without problems. The seller can completely rule out an accident.

The black 19-inch rims of this R8 have been repainted: they are equipped in impeccable condition with tyres in the dimension of 305/30 on the rear axle and 235/35 on the front axle. The seller attests that the brake system is in perfect condition, the chassis is original and without deficits.

With the exception of a minimally patinated driver's seat (in the area of the entry cheeks), no abnormalities can be taken from the interior lined with black full leather, which could spoil the very good overall condition of this Audi R8. According to the seller, the window was already new, in addition, a new navigation system was installed. From electric windows and electrically adjustable seats to cruise control and automatic climate control to electronic damper adjustment and parking sensors, this R8 has a rich equipment list. Common to all equipment features is their problem-free function.

52,500 kilometres can be read on the display in the driver's cockpit: this mileage can be proven beyond doubt on the basis of a completely guided checkbook. All instruments, displays and controls in the interior of the Audi work perfectly.

The mid-engine V8 of the Audi generates 420 hp from a displacement of 4.2 litres, and the individual gears are engaged via an automated manual transmission called the R-Tronic – this is done either via the gear lever in the centre console or via a shift paddle on the steering wheel. In September 2021, the last service work took place, defects in the powertrain are not known to the current holder.

A clean condition corresponding to the low mileage can be found on the underside of this car. An R8 with the internal type designation 42 represents the first model generation of Audi's mid-engine sports car series, it is a high-performance sports car with a manufactory character.
