BMW M5 Touring E61 (2007)

Louis Kalendruschat

Kickdown's Take

by Louis Kalendruschat

The E61 M5 Touring is a real rarity among the M models, making it an exciting investment. The highlight is, of course, its legendary naturally aspirated V10 engine. The vehicle offered here impresses with its low mileage of approx. 105,000, its extensive service history, and comprehensive investments made in 2025, including the important replacement of the connecting rod bearing shells. A top-class M5 Touring!

Price Estimation64.000 € - 75.000 €
Vehicle description

A 2007 BMW M5 Touring (E61) in metallic black with black leather interior is available for sale.

Highlights

  • Very rare M5 Touring with 5.0-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine and 507 hp – just over 1,000 M5 Tourings were built, while approximately 19,000 M5 sedans were built
  • SMG transmission (semi-automatic)
  • Collector's item, only 105,448 kilometers on the odometer (verifiable)
  • Full service history
  • Drivers Package
  • Head-up display, rearview camera, soft close, keyless entry, cup holders
  • Apple CarPlay & Android Auto retrofitted
  • The car has had several owners because it occasionally had an engine electronics fault. The fault was not found for a long time. The service history (see picture gallery) shows that a number of parts have been replaced. Ultimately, it was a defective connector on the hot film LMM sensor. The problem was fixed for €5.
  • Approx. €12,000 investment in 2025:
    • Major inspection including new connecting rod bearing shells, SMG clutch, Vanos lines
    • Retrofitting of original BMW CIC + Apple Carplay/Android Auto (ex-works CCC; included)
    • 4x new Pirelli tires (BMW star-marked)
    • Bonnet painted due to small dent on the front left
    • New brake discs + pads on front axle
    • New steering wheel including airbag. Steering wheel was a little greasy and the airbags develop unsightly perforations over time (old part available; no accident)
    • New SMG gear knob due to minor paint chipping from a ring on the finger
    • New M door sills (in original packaging in the trunk)
    • New front axle (upper/lower control arms/coupling rods) + chassis alignment

Model history

The BMW E61 M5 Touring is an icon among high-performance station wagons. Produced between 2007 and 2010, only around 1,000 were built – a real rarity among the M models. At its heart is a naturally aspirated V10 engine with Formula 1 DNA, which, in combination with the M-typical chassis, SMG transmission, and innovative driver assistance systems, offers a unique driving experience. The Touring version combines uncompromising performance with practical everyday usability and is particularly sought after in the collector scene today.

LG Tom
