Vehicle description

British understatement has many manifestations. The Mark 2 from Jaguar is a prime example of this: 1955 came on the market, first with 2.4 liters, then with 3.4 liters of displacement, the most powerful engine was a 3.8 liter in-line six-cylinder. The basic shape of its body with radiator face of the XK-150 sports car is adopted by the Mk 2 with small changes from its predecessor. That is why some parts of the body are still characterized by the pre-war style: the main headlights standing close to each other, the rounded rear, as well as the "spats", the removable covers on the rear wheel cutouts. The main difference, however, is made by the window areas of the Mk2, which have been enlarged by almost 20 percent.

You can now buy such a classic in the 3.8 liter version in this auction: A Jaguar Mark 2 built in 1964. The left-hand drive was approved for the first time in the USA, the Import to Germany took place in 1994. Since then the Jaguar with the chassis number P223322DN in Germany, it is family-owned and has an H-approval. On the basis of various Documents, the history of the Jaguar can be traced approximately. Immediately after the import According to the seller, the Mark 2 was restored without regard to costs. In the course of time, various additions and conversions were carried out by specialist workshops and, if necessary, approved by TÜV: According to the seller, modifications were primarily aimed at safety and comfort. On off Classic-analytics report originating in 2015 is available and certifies the Jaguar the condition grade 2 and for the modifications an increase in value of approx. € 10,000 compared to the average market value. According to the current owner, the Mark 2 has a total of 3 holders, the TÜV runs until March 2023.

...

A two-tone paint finish in beige/white adorns the body of this Mark 2. The complete body of the Jaguar was revised after import and then preserved and then painted in the current two-tone paintwork. Overall, the exterior of this Jaguar is in very good shape, only the chrome and trim parts installed on the vehicle have minimal patina in places. Minimal signs of aging can also be found in the paint. Glazing and lighting of the car can be found without defects. The neuralgic zones such as rust on sills, wheel arches, jack mounts, and lower door edges are obviously in perfect condition. Otherwise, this Jaguar Mk2 shows itself in stainless and unused body condition. The seller can completely rule out an accident.

...

New tires ensure good road grip, the original chrome-spoke wheels still shine as they should and the brake system has a condition of 70-90%, according to seller statements. In the area of brakes, the system was converted to a 3-piston brake system from the Jaguar E-Type (Series 3). A modification in the chassis area is the installation of adjustable shock absorbers of the Spax brand.

...

Beige leather seats and wooden inlays adorn the interior of this Jaguar Mk2. The restoration work also related to the interior of the Mark 2: Here, all trim parts and the seats were refurbished and covered with genuine leather, the footwell carpet has been made to measure, the wooden inlays are covered with clear lacquer. All instruments and switches are completely preserved. The following modifications have been installed in this Jaguar: Detachable Lecarra steering wheel, 3-point automatic belt, cruise control, electric windows, electronic immobilizer, battery interruption switch in the glove compartment. Damage or even signs of wear and tear in the interior of the Mk2 are not objectionable.

...

The five-digit speedometer shows a mileage of approx. 22,090 kilometres. A history of the Jaguar 3.8 can be partially presented, all instruments do their job flawlessly.

...

From 3.8-liter displacement, the in-line six-cylinder of this Jaguar generates 168 hp, the power transmission was converted to an automatic transmission of the Jaguar XJ6 (Borg Warner BW66). Further modifications in the field of technology are the conversion to a three-phase alternator, the installation of an electronic ignition system and the installation of an oil cooler. Furthermore, H4 headlights were used and an approved fire extinguishing system found its place in the car. Furthermore, an electric water pump, a high-performance cooler and an electric fan of the Kennlow brand were installed. The entire powertrain enjoyed a complete overhaul in the course of the restoration work, the electrical system has been completely renewed and, according to the seller, has been improved immediately. In March 2021, a final service took place.

...

Rust is obviously not an issue on the underside of the Jaguar Mk2 either. In summary, it can be said that a Jaguar MK2 impresses above all with its characteristic body line, the sporty and sonorous engine and the rich equipment. This Jaguar is easy to drive in everyday life due to the modifications made and proves to be safe and in some respects also improved classic car for the future owner without any work to do. The seller also mentions that all conversion measures have been carried out with care and all original parts that have been replaced are still available.
