Model history:

From 1968, the top model of the Daimler Motor Company was the so-called Daimler DS 420 - also known as the "Daimler Saloon" - which is a Pullman version and was technically based on the Jaguar Mark X, from which it also took over the elaborate rear axle design. The Daimler DS 420 had a total of 7 seats (2 of which were foldable emergency seats), and it was manufactured not only by Jaguar itself but also by the British coachbuilder Vanden Plas: By the end of production in 1992, a total of just over 5,000 units of the Daimler sedan had been built. Countless monarchs around the world used the DS 420.

The Daimler offered for auction here is the Pullman sedan DS 420. This Daimler sedan released for auction here from first registration in 1983 with the VIN SADDWATL3AC200341 comes from 4th hand - the seller purchased the sedan at the end of 2021 from a private seller from Germany, who in turn had bought the Daimler from Scotland from a count. Unfortunately, not much is known about the history, as there is no checkbook for the DS 420. However, a few invoices and receipts exist. TÜV has this vehicle until September 2023, the partially restored classic car is already in possession of an H license plate and the so-called matching numbers are assumed.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

Due to its two-tone appearance in Pearl White/Burgundy Red, this Daimler is very elitist apart from its stately length - repainting cannot be ruled out, but according to the seller, the body is in good condition for the vehicle's age, except for slight rust spots on the passenger door under the paint. In 2022, the mother-of-pearl white was foiled. All chrome parts on the Daimler are apparently in a shiny state of preservation and all add-on parts seem to be preserved in complete condition on the exterior.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

As tires, this Daimler wears tires that were recently purchased new after consultation with the seller. The current owner certifies a condition assessment of 70-90% of the brakes and he is not aware of any major defects in the chassis area.

Interior:

Extensive wood and leather have been used in the interior of this Daimler Pullman sedan - this gives the car a homely luxury ambience that pampers its occupants with comfortable seats and plenty of space, especially in the rear. According to the seller, both the black leather and the wood are in a neat condition and missing parts in the interior are obviously not to be criticized. Mileage:

Engine:

According to the seller, the 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine housed in the bow produces 165 hp - the gears are engaged via a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic. The seller mentions that the second tank is defective. The two carburettors were only recently renewed, and a final service was carried out in March 2022.
