Model history

The Porsche 911 was first presented at the IAA in 1963 – at that time still under the name "901." After a naming dispute with Peugeot, it became known as the "911" from 1964 onwards and quickly developed into the trademark of the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer. With the SC series (Super Carrera), produced between 1978 and 1983, the 911 was equipped with a 3.0-liter engine as standard for the first time. The Targa with removable roof offered an open-top driving experience without compromising the striking silhouette of the 911.

LG Tom
