Morgan Plus 8 (1990)

Introduction

The Morgan Plus 8 was presented at the London Motor Show, Earls Court, in September 1968. It attracted worldwide interest and was also well received in Germany. The light alloy eight-cylinder combined with a reinforced Morgan frame made for an interesting combination: Because of its front-loaded nature, a Plus 8 proved to be a strong over-stealer. In 1977, when the Plus 8 was available with an aluminum body instead of a steel one, it was lighter and even faster, but that was not enough: In 1990, the car was equipped with a 3.9-liter engine. Later versions with 4.0-liter and 4.6-liter engines with catalytic converter and five-speed gearbox followed.

Currently this Morgan has an Austrian registration and a valid inspection until June 2025 and 3 owners. An accident-free condition is confirmed by the seller, furthermore he states that the so-called "matching numbers" are given and the Plus 8 already has a historic registration.

• Exterior and interior: The paint color of this Morgan Plus 8 is classic green for a British car. According to the seller, repainting can be ruled out. The soft top - which also has a separable tarpaulin for the driver - is black with red piping, the interior has red leather seats and there is plenty of wood on the dashboard.

• Engine and transmission: The engine in this Plus 8 is a 3.9-liter V8 injection from Rover that delivers 190 hp to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine underwent its last service in June 2023.

• Mileage: The classic-looking round instruments in the wood-paneled dashboard show a mileage of 143,230 kilometers, which the seller says can be partially tracked.

• Documentation: For the purpose of documenting the history of this Morgan, numerous invoices are available, there is no checkbook. Besides Austrian papers, German papers are also present.

Condition

• 70-90% condition attests the seller the brakes, the tires (individual custom-made, because red wall tires) came according to him only recently new.

• At the rear left of the fender, a square centimeter large scratch was repaired with an original color paint pen.
