Model history
The Jaguar MK II was produced from 1959 to 1967 as a further development of the Mark 1 and is still considered one of the iconic British sports sedans today. It was available with 2.4-, 3.4-, and 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engines and combined sporty performance with luxurious comfort—in keeping with Jaguar's motto of "Grace, Space, Pace." After production of the 3.8 ended in 1967, the 240 and 340 models continued until 1969. There was no direct successor; models such as the S-Type, the Jaguar 420 and later the XJ6 gradually took over its role in the portfolio.

Comments of this past auction
