Vehicle description

Model history:

In 1951, the American car manufacturer Hudson presented the successor model to the Comodre - the Hudson Hornert. This was based on the so-called "step-down" design. Unlike a unibody design, the "step-down" design did not completely merge the body and chassis into a single structure. Instead, the passenger compartment floor panels were recessed into the vehicle frames, resulting in a lower vehicle center of gravity. This innovative design, later known as the "Perimeter Frame," gave the Hudson Hornet not only a unique look, but also outstanding handling characteristics.

General information about the vehicle:

You now have the opportunity to acquire such a Hudson Hornet coupe at the upcoming auction. The vehicle was first registered in 1953 and bears the vehicle identification number (VIN) 213240. Over the years, the Hudson has been driven extremely carefully by five previous owners, with no accidents recorded. The 5 owners have been identified through their own research and are verifiable in the history. The Hudson has a valid MOT sticker until April 2025 and is both roadworthy and registered. The H license plate documents the classic car status of this coupe. In addition, the Hornet has been professionally restored in the past. This is a very rare vehicle in top condition. There is a great appraisal from Classic Data 2019 and an update from June 2022 in which the vehicle received a 2+. The vehicle has received a complete restoration from 2008 - 2010 at Martini Garage in Heilbronn. It has not been restored to death and has some patina. The engine was completely overhauled during this time by the company p-s-r.com in Aich a district of Moosburg by Pat Schöfer whom I even knew personally The transmission went to a transmission specialist in Allgäu. There is a history and lots of books, invoices, cost report etc. The car runs perfectly. In January 22 the radiator and the heater radiator were restored, so they are like new again. In August 22 the brakes on the right rear side were overhauled. The history of the car from the last owner in America is in the history, which already has 75 pages and was created by me. In addition, there are two completely new windshields, a complete set of engine gaskets, and a set of new brake pads for left rear wheel as spare parts.

Exterior color/paint/bodywork:

Visually, the car is an absolute eye-catcher. The car has been professionally painted and is based on the character Doc Hudson from the successful Pixar movie series "Cars". Together with the shiny chrome elements and the enlarged grille, the Hudson presents an impressive appearance. According to the owner, repainting cannot be ruled out. But overall, the paint makes a very good impression.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The look and "Doc Hudson" design is rounded out by red painted 15-inch steel rims. Mounted on these rims are Cooper Cobra tires, which according to our information still have good tread depth. The tread condition is estimated to be around 70 to 90%. The current owner also confirms the reliable and good condition of the brake system, which he also estimates at 70 to 90%. There are no known modifications or defects, according to the owner.

Interior:

Hudson door sills welcome visitors to the vehicle's interior

.

There, they are greeted by a blue leatherette interior that has been visually enhanced by a plaid cloth upholstery on the bench seat. The blue dashboard forms a harmonious combination with the chrome elements that frame the instruments and gauges. The classic steering wheel and blue headliner add further accents. A particular highlight is the imposing clock in the center of the dashboard, although it currently has no function. The installed radio is also out of service. Other than that, the interior is in good condition for its age and exudes timeless and classic charm.

Mileage:

The rustic speedometer on the left side of the dashboard shows a mileage of 12,999 miles (approximately 20,920 km). Since there is no checkbook, this figure cannot be verified beyond a reasonable doubt. However, the owner confirms that all other interior gauges and instruments are functioning properly, except for the clock and radio.

Engine:

The Hudson Hornet is powered by a powerful 5-liter, six-cylinder engine. This is equipped with a twin H-Power dual carburetor system that gives the Hudson an impressive 172 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the axles via a 2-speed automatic transmission. The classic car was last serviced in April this year and, according to the owner, is in perfect condition both technically and engine-wise.

Underbody:

The underside of the Hudson Hornet presents itself in a rust-free condition, which underlines the overall good condition of the vehicle, as can also be clearly seen in the series of pictures. It should be noted that the Hudson Hornet underwent a restoration to achieve its current condition. In addition, a detailed list of all costs for the vehicle is available in the form of an Excel spreadsheet provided by the current owner.

There are

no known issues, so the car can be driven directly on the roads after successful auction completion.

The Hudson Hornet coupe offered here presents itself in visually appealing condition that is very good for its age. The six-cylinder engine with twin carburetors runs flawlessly and provides an impressive driving experience. The eye-catching Doc Hudson paint scheme with corresponding decals, inspired by the popular Pixar movie Cars, adds a special charm to the vehicle and makes it an absolute eye-catcher. Whether for automotive enthusiasts, classic car lovers or collectors, this Hudson Hornet coupe offers an opportunity to acquire something special. The stickers can be removed without leaving any residue.
