Model history

• The BMW 318i was introduced as a mid-range car in 1975. It was to become an important part of the German car manufacturer for the next few years. The first 3 Series E21 was produced from 1975 to 1983 and was the first BMW to be built in excess of 1 million units (1,364,039). This last generation BMW 318i with the Bosch fuel injection system replaced the 318 with carburetor engine, which was still available as the 316. Instead of 90 hp, it already produced 105 hp. The E21 318i was actually only intended for the export market and is therefore rarely found. To this day, the E21 is one of the absolute classics and a trend-setting model of the BMW 3 Series.
