Model history
The Land Rover Defender was introduced in the 1980s as a further development of the Land Rover series and renamed Defender 90, 110, and 130 in 1990. With a sturdy ladder frame, aluminum body, and permanent four-wheel drive, it was considered the British counterpart to the Jeep. Technically, it offered improvements such as coil springs and modern engines. The design remained largely unchanged until 2016, earning it a 33-year production run and global cult status.
