Model history

The BMW 745i was a high-performance model that was available on the European markets from 1979 to 1986. It was originally powered by the M102 engine, a turbocharged 3.2-liter version of the M30 in-line six-cylinder engine. This engine produced an impressive 185 kW (252 hp). In 1982, the engine was upgraded to the M106, which increased the displacement to 3.4 liters. At the same time, the fuel injection system was changed from Jetronic to the more modern Motronic.
