Model history:

With the W 123 series Mercedes-Benz presented perhaps its most successful model in the upper mid-range, it is certainly the most built model. The gasoline engine range of the W 123 series from Mercedes-Benz, available from 1975, included the 200, 230, 250, 280 and 280 E models. The engines were still from the predecessor model, the so-called "dash 8". In the course of the 1980 model update, new, more economical four-cylinder engines were added to the range. In other respects, too, there were a total of 3 series in which the W 123 underwent various modifications during the production period. Altogether approx. 2.7-Millionen vehicles ran from the series W 123 of the volume, starting from 1984 it was replaced by the series W 124, production ended finally however only 1986.

Now in this auction the possibility exists of acquiring a Mercedes Benz 250 from the series 123, which was registered in the year 1978 in Austria for the first time and the chassis number 12302612061608 exhibits. In total, 3 owners came together over the years, the so-called matching numbers are assumed and a history can be partially traced due to a kept checkbook. The Austrian inspection of this Mercedes-Benz sedan still shows a validity until December 2024. In 2019 - when the current seller acquired the 250 - the vehicle was completely overhauled, as the car had been standing for 20 years before that.

Exterior color/paint/bodywork:

Visually, this Mercedes-Benz 250 offered here in beige paint color presents itself in a very clean condition according to the seller - only a small dent with a minimal scratch on the rear left fender can be objected to according to him. All chrome and trim elements on the exterior are completely preserved and in apparently good condition.

current owner, the car has not been repainted yet, and according to the owner, the car has no accident damage and the front and rear bumpers do not show any signs of damage.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

The hubcaps are painted to match the color of the Mercedes-Benz paint. In the course of the general overhaul, the brakes came new in addition to the tires and also the following parts: Tie rod rubber 2x, axle beam bearings 3x, brake hoses, brake calipers (were repaired). Inconsistencies in the area of the chassis are not to be enumerated.

Interior:

Matching the exterior color, the interior of this Mercedes-Benz W 123 features blue partial leather seats, which are obviously in very clean condition and show no rough damage. Except for a few black plastic elements and the black 4-spoke steering wheel, the interior is mostly blue. The windows can be opened by hand crank and as equipment elements inside the 250, besides cruise control and a sunroof, there is also a radio. Engine

this Mercedes-Benz generates 129 hp from a displacement of 2.5 liters and a maximum torque of 192 Newton meters. Power is transmitted to the rear axle by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Since the acquisition of the W 123 by the current owner, the carburetor has been adjusted, among other things, and new spark plugs, the ignition lead set, the distributor set, the distributor cap, the oil pan and various engine bearings have been added. In addition, the fuel pump, the fuel tank unit, various lamps, various electronic components, 2x differential oil seals, the rear axle and the valve cover were sealed, fuel lines were replaced and many rubber elements were replaced. In addition, the engine oil and the automatic transmission oil with all associated filters were replaced, and the automatic transmission was resealed. Finally, a new battery was added to the car and the handbrake got a new adjustment. The seller now lets mention that the technology as well as the electrics are in an extremely good condition and the W 123 can be driven commendably.

Underbody:

For the long-lasting protection of the underbody it was treated with rope grease and generally with underbody protection. According to the seller, nothing has been welded here to date. This Mercedes-Benz 250 provides a great driving experience due to its solid engine performance and the inline six cylinder - on top of that many parts were renewed and overhauled. It represents either for Mercedes lovers or also for beginners in the classic car hobby a high-quality sedan, which also does not have many total kilometers.
