Model his­tory

The Mer­cedes-Benz 500 E was devel­oped in the early 1990s in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with Porsche and was exten­sively redesigned specif­i­cally for the instal­la­tion of the 5.0-liter V8 engine. Assem­bly took place in a com­plex pro­duc­tion process between Sin­delfin­gen and Zuf­fen­hausen, partly by hand.
