Model history

As the successor to the "Pagoda" models, the new roadsters of the R107 series enjoyed great market success, although they had lost the lightness of the lines of the older series from the outside. Nevertheless, they had been technically refined and completely modernized. In addition to the models with six-cylinder engines, the introduction of the V8 engines, with displacements ranging from 3.5 liters to 5.5 liters, provided new dimensions in driving performance. Until 1989, the roadsters of the 107 model series were constantly updated and still represented a thoroughly contemporary technical standard - even after almost 20 years of production.
