Model history:

The G-model with its characteristic bellows has long been established even among discerning Porsche enthusiasts. This versatile successful series, built from 1973 to 1989, offers for the first time the three varieties coupé, targa and convertible. The G-model has popularized 911 driving, the numbers rose steeply. But Porsche boss Ernst Fuhrmann wanted to take the 928 out of the program in the medium term. The 911 SC was to be the last next to the turbo. His successor, Peter W. Schutz, saw things differently from 1981 onwards and was the first to push ahead with the 911 Cabriolet. Under his aegis, the G-model achieved its perfectionist perfection.
